Maldives Sports Award 2024: Dheema and Shaffan win Athlete of the Year

Fathimath Dheema Ali has won the Female Athlete of the Year and Mohamed Shaffan Ismail has won Male Athlete of the Year at Maldives Sports Award 2024.

Maldives Sports Award 2024 was conferred during a grand ceremony held at the Social Centre on Thursday night.

Dheema and Shamman who received Female Athlete of the Year and Male Athlete of the Year respectively received their awards from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

This marks the second time Dheema takes the award.

Dheema also won Best Tennis Player of the Year and Best Young Athlete of the Year.

Winners of the other notable awards include:

Sportswoman of the Year, gold – Fathimath Dheema Ali

Sportswoman of the Year, silver – Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzag

Sportswoman of the Year, bronze – Fathimath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq

Sportsmen of the Year, gold – Mohamed Shaffan Ismail

Sportsmen of the Year, silver – Azneen Rashad

Sportsmen of the Year, bronze – Nibaal Ahmed

Lifetime Achievement Award  – Abdul Sattar Hassan and Late Ahmed Hafiz 

Thursday night’s ceremony was attended by President Muizzu in addition to Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef, Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu and other senior government officials.
