President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Tuesday night, condemned Israel’s ongoing aggression on Lebanon.

He strongly condemned the attacks via a post on X in which he stated that the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, killing innocent civilians, and causing displacement and injury to thousands is a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

“The international community must act immediately to hold Israel accountable and bring an immediate ceasefire in both Lebanon and Gaza,” he added.

Over 1,600 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Lebanon that have also seen the assassination of militant group Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah.

President Muizzu during his recent address at the General Debate of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly described Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza as a “travesty of justice and the international system” and called to hold Israel accountable for these violations of international law and UN resolutions.
