City council surveys state of Male’ roads, fixes damage

The city council has initiated a survey to assess the state of the roads of the capital Male’ and fix damages and remedy issues.

The survey was initiated on Sunday.

According to a statement released by the city council on Tuesday, this survey is being carried out by dividing the roads of Male’ into 19 segments.

The city council said that once the survey is done, all issues with the city’s roads will be digitalized, meaning that information regarding all damaged roads, drains, pavements and illegal worksites will be available online.

The city council said it is currently cleaning the drains near schools, and repairing damages to roads, pavements and drains.

It believes the initiative will offer some remedy to the issues facing pedestrians and motorists.

“Once this survey is done and a digital system where the state of the roads of Male’ can be viewed is established, it will make it easier to track the state of the roads and significantly speed up efforts to fix issues,” said the city council.

The city council said that councilors are actively involved in the survey work by the council’s employees.
