The Bank of Maldives (BML) launched a special promotion on Monday in celebration of 20 years of exclusive partnership with American Express.
The celebratory kick-off event was held in July. And on Monday, the BML announced a promotion for its American Express credit card members as part of the series of activities.
According to BML, cardmembers can spend a minimum of MVR 3,000 to qualify for a lucky draw to win 20,000 BML Rewards points. The BML Rewards points can then be used for flight, car or hotel bookings or to purchase gift cards from local and international merchants including Amazon, Apple and Spotify.
“We are proud to have introduced the first credit card in Maldives with American Express in 2004, followed by the world’s first American Express debit card. Today, after two decades of our exclusive partnership, American Express is a trusted and preferred brand for Maldivians,” said BML’s Director of Retail, Business and SME Banking Moosa Nimal.
“American Express has always delivered exceptional benefits and offers to our card members. We recently launched the country’s first-ever Sharia’h compliant credit card which has become a much sought after product for our customers with its array of exclusive benefits.”
BML is the largest card issuing and acquiring bank in the country with over 345,000 customers and more than 7,900 merchants. The bank is also the exclusive issuer and merchant acquiring partner of American Express in Maldives.
