Discussions held on strengthening Maldives-China military cooperation

Discussions have been held on strengthening military cooperation between Maldives and China.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Maldives’ Defense Minister Ghassan Maumoon and China’s Minister of National Defense Admiral Dong Jun on the sidelines of the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.

The forum is a platform bringing together the heads of the military sector of Asia Pacific nations.

Defense Ministry said that both ministers discussed avenues for strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries during their meeting.

Maldives’ Ambassador to China Dr. Fazeel Najeeb accompanied Minister Ghassan’s delegation during the meeting.
