Man arrested for driving a motorbike with four onboard

A man has been arrested from AA. Ukulhas on Monday for driving a motorbike with four people onboard.

In a message to the media, Maldives Police Service said Ahmed Naseem, Daisymaage from Ukulhas drove a motorbike with four people onboard at the island’s harbor in a dangerous manner and at high speed.

The Police further detailed that Naseem had failed to abide by instructions of officers at the scene to stop the motorbike and instead caused a public disturbance by raising his voice and shouting profanities. It was also noted that Naseem sped away on the motorbike without stopping.

Naseem was arrested under a court order on Monday and has since been remanded in custody for seven days.

The case is under further investigation by the Police.
