Discussions have been held on establishing a resident mission of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the Maldives.
The discussions took place during a meeting held between Finance Minister Dr. Mohamed Shafeeq and ADB’s Executive Director Dr. Justine Diokno-Sicat on Monday.
As per the Finance Ministry, the discussions focused on the Maldivian government’s fiscal reforms and explored avenues for further engagement with ADB.

Discussions were also held on establishing a resident mission of ADB in the Maldives.
ADB’s Executive Director Dr. Justine is currently on a three-day consultation visit to the Maldives during which he will meet with key government officials and conduct project site visits.
Monday’s meeting was attended by senior officials of the Finance Ministry alongside the Minister.
ADB funds multiple development projects underway in the Maldives. Many projects have also been successfully completed with the assistance of the bank.
