FM Zameer departs to Saudi Arabia on official visit

Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer, on Sunday, has departed on an official visit to Saudi Arabia.

As per the Foreign Ministry, Minister Zameer is undertaking the visit at the invitation of his Saudi Arabian counterpart, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud.

During this visit, Minister Zameer will deliver a letter from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, addressed to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

He is also scheduled to engage in high-level discussions with his Saudi Arabian counterpart to review the longstanding fraternal ties of friendship between the two countries and discuss avenues for future cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Notably, this year marks the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Maldives and Saudi Arabia.

He will also meet with other senior dignitaries of the Saudi Arabian government and the Saudi Fund for Development.

Minister Zameer is also set to meet the Maldivian community residing in Riyadh and inquire about their well-being.

He is accompanied by Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA)’s Governor Ahmed Munawar, Ambassador-at-Large Ahmed Naseer, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL)’s Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, Joint Secretary Badoora Saeed and Director General Aishath Fareena.

The Minister will conclude the visit on Thursday, August 22nd
