Police officer's motorbike torched at Henbadhoo over drug operation

A police officer’s motorbike has been torched at N. Henbadhoo amid a special counter-narcotics operation by the authority at Noonu Atoll.

Police Spokesperson and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan said a police officer’s motorbike was vandalized in Henbadhoo on August 1^st and another police officer’s motorbike was torched in the early hours of Friday.

Shifan said both the vandalism and the arson are suspected to be committed by a group of people with suspected involvement as the Police conducts a counter-narcotics operation in Noonu Atoll.

He stressed that the Police’s courage and determination will not be deterred by such cowardly acts and reminded of the same to individuals committing such acts with that intention.

No arrests have been made in connection to the arson and the vandalism so far.

However, the case is under investigation by the Police.
