Two remanded for 15 days in theft of a motorbike and TV

Two suspects who stole a motorbike and a TV have been remanded in custody for 15 days.

Police, in a message to the media, said a report was made on Sunday after TV was stolen from a home in Henveiru district of Male’ City and another report was made on Tuesday after a motorbike was stolen from the same home.

Two Maldivian men – a 31-year-old and a 32-year-old – were arrested in connection to the case last night. They were both remanded in custody by the Criminal Court for 15 days.

Police said the motorbike and the TV stolen by the suspects have been recovered while the items were hidden inside a house.

The case is under further investigation by the Police.

While there has been a sharp increase in theft and robbery cases recently, most suspects arrested in such cases are youths and middle-aged men.
