The Pakistani government has donated USD 10,000 to the Dhivehi Bahuge Academy (DBA) – the Maldives’ national language institute.
The donation was presented by Pakistan High Commissioner Vice Admiral (Retired) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani in a ceremony held at the DBA headquarters in Male’ on Thursday.
It was accepted on behalf of the DBA by Heritage Minister Adam Naseer Ibrahim.
Speaking at the ceremony, Naseer described the donation as crucial assistance which will help the DBA fulfill its goals.
“This moment symbolizes the longstanding brotherly ties between Maldives and Pakistan. It shows our friendship,” he said.
Naseer said it also shows the strength and resilience of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s foreign policy, and thanked him for it.
The ceremony was also attended by DBA’s President Dr. Ashraf Abdul Raheem, Deputy High Commissioner Zulqurnain Ahmad, and other top officials.
