Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) said there were no sea swells reported on Saturday, and forecast more swells on Sunday.
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) spoke with ‘Sun’ confirming there were no reports of swell-related damages from Saturday.
The weather forecast authority reported southern parts of Maldives will experience high tide with sea swells. MET expects tide levels to reach its peak around 14:13hrs on Sunday afternoon.
MET further forecast rainfall for northern parts of the country until 18:00hrs, while weather is expected to be generally sunny for southern and central parts throughout Sunday.
The authority forecasts wind speeds of 15 miles per hour from West-Southwest direction for central atolls, and winds up to 10 miles per hour South-Southeast for southern atolls.
MET further said that the seas in central and southern areas will be generally calm with tidal waves expected to reach a height of four feet.
Several areas of southern Maldives experienced varying degrees of sea swells, while Male’ City had experienced swells as well.
