MET issues yellow alert from Noonu to Lhaviyani atolls

Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office) has issued a yellow alert from Noonu to Lhaviyani atolls.

MET issued the alert effective from 16:15hrs on Tuesday afternoon to 20:30hrs on the same evening.

The authority forecast heavy rainfall accompanied with thunder for the area, with gusts reaching 40 miles hour along with rough sea swells. Additionally, winds are expected to pick up pace between 10 and 18 miles per hour from West-Southwest direction.

MET said various parts of Maldives may experience stormy weather conditions including strong winds, sea swells reaching between three to five feet, and heavy rainfall.
