Five regional hospitals extend service hours

Health Ministry has decided to extend the service hours of five regional hospitals which will be implemented in two sessions.

The Ministry identified the regional hospitals that will extend their service hours as Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital located at GDh. Thinadhoo, Addu City’s Equatorial Hospital, Laamu Atoll Regional Hospital, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital and R. Ungoofaru Regional Hospital

The change will come into effect at the four hospitals apart from Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital on July 15^th.

Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital has already implemented the extension of service hours on Monday.

Prior to this, the regional hospitals' service hours were from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The hospitals will provide service in two sessions with the new service hour extension: from 8:30am to 3:00pm and 3:00pm to 10:00pm. 

Health Ministry said the extension of service hours was being implemented to provide easements for the public seeking healthcare from these facilities.
