Mihaaru News editor in treatment after stroke attack

Mihaaru News editor Ismail Naseer is now undergoing treatment following a major stroke attack.

He was at Baa atoll Eydhafushi with family for Eid-ul-Adha holidays when the incident occurred.

Following treatment at Eydhafushi hospital, Naseer was brought to Male' City for further treatment around 01:00hrs on Saturday early hours.

Mihaaru News confirms Naseer is undergoing treatment at ADK Hospital's Intesive Care Unit (ICU), adding his condition was serious.

The veteran reporter has been serving in Maldives journalism sector for 28 years.

Naseer, aged 47, started in career in journalism with 'Aafathis' News, after which he joined 'Haveeru' and filled its Managing Editor's position as well.

A recient of various journalism accolades, Naseer is among the few who was bestowed with the 'Ran Galan' (Gold Pen) Award as well.
