A dead Maldivian local was discovered from a residence in Haa Dhaal atoll Hanimadhoo on Saturday.
Maldives Police Service said their officials attended to a report of an unresponsive tenant living at a Hanimaadhoo residence.
Police said the individual was lying in bed motionless when they found him.
Hanimaadhoo health center later confirmed the individual has been dead when he were brought in.
Police has identified the individual as Ahmed Jaleel, 64.
Hanimaadhoo councils' president Abdul Sattar Hassan on Saturday spoke to 'Sun', confirming the individual was not a native of the island, but a Male' City citizen currently residing there.
Jaleel had participated as an official in the Eid-ul-Adha activities at Hanimaadhoo on Friday, council added.
Jaleel was last seen alive by a Hanimaadhoo local around 19:00hrs on Friday evening, after which he was discovered dead.
Police said they were investigating the incident now.
