Rain amid Eid expected, mostly clear weather

Partial rain expected amid upcoming Eid-ul-Adha holidays, reports Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office), adding it would be mostly sunny throughout the duration.

In a weather forecast MET office issued for the next five days, the authority said though partial rainy weather across Maldives is expected, the weather mostly would be clear.

Winds are expected to remain at 18 miles per hour from West-Southwest direction, with seas expected to be moderately rough and swells estimated to reach heights between three feet.

This year's Eid-ul-Adha coincides with Sunday next week.

Meanwhile, Maldives government announced national-scale festivals in three regions; while many locals have been traveling to these areas ahead of the celebrations.

This year's Eid-ul-Adha holidays inclusive of public holidays last for nine days.
