Agreement signed to establish a

An agreement was signed today via Sun Foundation to establish a Referral and Placement Centre in the Maldives, to facilitate Maldivian students to join the Asia e University (AeU) of Malaysia.

In a ceremony held at Mookai Hotel, the agreement was signed by AeU’s President Dr Professor Ansaree and Vice President Dr Mak Chee, and Sun Foundation’s General Manager Ashraf Abdul Raheem and Board Member Al-Ustaz Mohamed Anil.

Asia e University, established four years ago, provides opportunities for higher education in several countries around the world.

After the ceremony, General Manager Ashraf said that following the MOU signed today, a Centre will be established in Maldives which will deal with the enrollment of Maldivian students with AeU. These discussions are scheduled for tomorrow between the representatives of the University and Foundation Board members.

“We will hold discussions tomorrow with the President and Vice President of AeU. We will talk about the benefits to Maldivians following this MOU, whether it is possible to complete courses from Maldives, and by going there,” Ashraf said.

Sun Foundation was created in 2009 by the Chairman of Sun Travel and Meedhoo MP Ahmed Siyam Mohamed. Now two years old, the Foundation carries out projects to improve the health, education and social situations of Maldivians.
