Govt reveals 3 islands for national-scale Eid festivities

The government has announced the three islands, which will host the national-scale celebratory activities of Eid-ul-Adha this year.

The Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage announced that R. Ungoofaaru, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, and GA. Vilingili will host the festivities of Eid-ul-Adha.

Earlier, the ministry announced that 26 islands, which include seven from northern atolls, 10 from central Maldives, and nine more from the south, had submitted proposals to host the Eid celebrations.

This year, the Eid-ul-Adha will begin on June 17.
