President Muizzu sends well wishes to Saudi King amid health concerns

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has sent well wishes to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud amid concerning reports regarding his health.

The Maldivian leader, in a post on X on Friday, said he was “deeply concerned” following the reports on the health of King Salman.

“On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, I wish His Majesty a full and speedy recovery. May Almighty Allah (SWT) bless His Majesty with good health and a long life,” he added.

King Salman, who is also the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is presently receiving treatment for inflamed lungs. The deterioration of his health has prompted his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to postpone a scheduled trip to Japan.

Notably, King Salman was hospitalized earlier this year, to replace the batteries of his pacemaker.

Earlier this month, President Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed undertook a visit to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah on the gracious hospitality of King Salman.
