Ahmed Zuhoor has been terminated from his position as the Chairman of Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) said on X, confirming Zuhoor has been removed from the company's board of directors effective from Wednesday, but did not specify the reason.
Zuhoor was appointed for the role earlier in February 2024.
The outgoing Chairman has previously filled several key positions in various state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and ministerial positions, including the roles of Youth, Health, and Home Ministers as well as the President's Office Minister.
Besides this, he is a former Commissioner General of Maldives Customs Service and a former Managing Director of STELCO as well.
While Zuhoor has been terminated from HDC, PCB on Wednesday earlier announced the termination of MIFCO CEO and board member Ahmed Samah Rasheed, but was later appointed as the State Minister of the Fisheries Ministry.
Additionally, MMPRC Managing Director Fathimath Thaufeeq was terminated from her role on Wednesday as well, while earlier, the tourism board's Chairperson Aysha Nurain Janah resigned from her position.
