The condition of the young boy injured in a wall collapse in Th. Kandoodhoo on Friday is no longer serious, according to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The 10-year-old had been walking back home after playing with his friends, when a wall collapsed on him.
The incident took place at around 05:30 pm on Friday.
He was initially treated at the Kandoodhoo Health Center, which lacked the facilities to conduct tests to determine the extent of the boy’s internal injuries.
However, the bad weather prevailing across the country had hindered attempts to have him transferred to another island.
He was finally transferred to Male’ on an air ambulance, on Saturday morning, and taken to the IGMH.
A spokesperson from IGMH told Sun on Sunday that the boy’s condition is “no longer serious” and that he is being treated under observation.
The boy sustained fractures to two parts of his body in the incident.
The police previously said they were investigating the incident.
