Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office) said Hulhule', the Velana International Airport (VIA) operated island, experienced the most number of rain in the last 24 hours.
MET Office reported Hulhule' observed 63.7 milimeters of rain in the last 24 hours, which was followed by ADh. Maamigili with 50.5 milimeters of rain.
L. Maavah experienced rain third most with 40.6 milimeters of rain, MET Office added.
With the islands experiencing a record-amount of rain, Maldives experienced heavy rainfall nationwide.
Earlier on Saturday, MET Office forecast worsening weather conditions from Baa atoll to Addu City. The office issued a yellow alert for the region effective on 05:30hrs on Saturday early morning.
With weather expected to worsen even further, MET Office had issued an orange alert to the two southern-most atolls; Fuvahmulah and Addu cities.
Weather conditions worsen generally during May, June and July every year. Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has instructed the public, especially seafarers, to practice caution these days.
Additionally, the authority urged public to bolster roofs if there is any suspicion they could rip off.
Seafarers have been warned to take extra caution before trips, while NDMA cautioned farmers to protect their crops from heavy rain and wind.
