Police arrest one for assault in cafe'

A local and an expatriate were involved in an assault in a cafe' in Hulhumale' on early Tuesday.

Maldives Police Service on Tuesday morning confirmed they received report of the assault around 00:26hrs.

Police added they arrested a 33-year-old local man in the case.

The suspect was given a seven-day remand when summoned to Hulhumale' Magistrate Court.

The cause of the violent altercation is still unclear, while police has launched their investigation into the case.
