Man arrested for stealing MVR 2M from a private company’s office

A man who broke into the office of a private company and stole approximately MVR 2 million from the premises has been arrested.

The suspect – a 38-year-old man from Male’ City – was remanded in custody for 15 days by the Criminal Court.

As per the court order, it is presumed that he was aided by additional persons in committing the theft. The man is also suspected of assisting his acquaintances to flee.

The court orders underscored that evidence was submitted against the suspect including witness testimonies, CCTV snapshots, an intelligence report and a call history report.

Henceforth, the court said it was ordering the man’s remand in custody as he is a possible threat to the society.
