Visa to be provided along with the ticket for flights from Hanimaadhoo to India

Transport Ministry has said that Island Aviation and Indian High Commission have come to an agreement to provide visa to India along with the ticket,starting from flights on the new route from Haa Dhaalu Hanimaadhoo to Trivandrum.

Speaking at a press conference held in Velaanaage today, acting Transport Minister Mohamed Nazim said that flights are scheduled to begin between Haa Dhaalu Hanimaadhoo and Trivandrum on 2 February and that providing visas to the passenger staking this route is to be carried out in two phases. In the first phaseIsland Aviation and the Indian High Commission have come to an agreement whereby the visa is available along with the ticket, and in the second phase the High Commission will visit Hanimaadhoo on scheduled dates to issues visas.

“Island Aviation will open for the purchase of the tickets and announce the prices soon. It has been arranged that the forms, once filled out, can be submitted to the High Commission through Island Aviation,” said Nazim.

He also said that in the privatisation process of Laamu Kadhdhoo, Gaafu Alif Kooddoo and Gaafu Dhaalu Kaadedhdhoo, the proposals are now being evaluated and that the contracts will be signed with those who win the proposals during the ceremony held to commence the flights between Hanimaadhoo and India.
