Speeding motorbike crashes into excavator; one injured

A speeding motorbike lost control and crashed into an excavator in an accident in Fuvahmulah City on Tuesday, leaving the driver injured.

According to the police, the accident took place at around 11:45 pm on Tuesday, on the Naibu Thuthu Hingun in the Dhiguvaadu district.

The accident resulted in injuries to a 27-year-old man who was driving the motorbike.

He was initially treated at the Fuvahmulah Hospital, before getting transferred to Male’ City.

He is currently being treated at the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The police did not disclose details regarding his injuries.

The latest accident marked the second such crash in Fuvahmulah in two days. On Monday, a motorbike veered out of control and crashed into a zebra crossing post. The driver, a 32-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and is being treated in a hospital in Male’.
