MACL launches Salhi Hulhule' clean-up initiative

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) on Saturday, initiated the "Salhi Hulhule" clean-up initiative at Velana International Airport (VIA).

The initiative was officiated by MACL CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef on Saturday morning, at 08:00 a.m.

In his opening speech, MACL CEO said the cleanliness of VIA, the main international airport of the Maldives, was a responsibility of everyone. He urged from everyone to support MACL in keeping the airport consistently clean.

Shareef also said he is hopeful similar initiatives will be held in the future.

Senior management of MACL and staff were split into teams to clean up nine major areas of VIA. The cleaning continued until 12:00 p.m.

MACL was assisted in its initiative by both Road Development Corporation (RDC) and Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
