Teen in critical condition after Hulhumale’ motorbike crash

The young man who sustained serious injuries after crashing his motorbike into a parked vehicle in Hulhumale’ on early Monday remains in critical condition.

The accident took place in front of the Immigration Detention Center, located in the Gul’alaama Hingun, in Hulhumale’ Phase I, at around 02:30 am.

According to the police, the motorbike was speeding when it crashed into a van parked outside the Immigration Detention Center.

The 19-year-old driving the motorbike sustained serious head injuries in the accident, and is being treated on a ventilator at the Tree Top Hospital.

The family reports that his condition is critical.

The police said the accident also resulted in massive damages to both the motorcycle and the van – which belongs to Immigration.

It was one of at least three accidents which took place in Hulhumale’ on Monday. The other two accidents took place on the highway, and resulted in injuries to two people.
