Japan's grant for reproductive health services

Japanese Ambassador to the Maldives Takeuchi Midori and the CEO of SHE Inasha Leena signed on the grant contracts--

The government of Japan has announced a grant extension of MVR 1.13 million to Society for Health Education (SHE) towards teh strengthening of medical system for clinical diagnostics and reproductive health services in the Maldives.

Under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP) scheme, the Japanese Ambassador to the Maldives Takeuchi Midori signed on the grant contracts on behalf of the Japanese government, and the CEO of SHE Inasha Leena signed on behalf of the organization.

Japanese government will gift 10 clinical equipment to SHE under the agreement, aimed at improving the thalassaemia diagnosis laboratory and its services.

The Japan Embassy further said their assistance will enhance the gene sequence technology, scanning services, and in-hous family planning clinic services.

Japan launched the GGP scheme, which is under the Japanese Official Development Assistance, to enhance the medical and health sector services in the Maldives.
