Tourist dies in drowning at Maafushi

A person has died after drowning at K. Maafushi.

Police, in a message to the media, said the drowning, which took place at the channel of Maafushi active water sports area, was reported to the authority this morning.

Citing the doctors, Police said the victim died while being treated at the health centre.

Maafushi Council identified the victim as a tourist.

Police are presently active at the scene of the drowning. They said further updates regarding the incident will be shared as they receive.
