PG Shameem injured in attack

Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem has been injured, after he was attacked on a street in Male’ City.

A police spokesperson confirmed that the attack on Shameem was reported to the authorities on Wednesday morning.

He is being treated for his injuries at the ADK Hospital.

“Preliminary findings establish that he was not attacked with a sharp-edged weapon,” added the spokesperson.

A spokesperson from the Prosecutor General’s Office said Shameem was in stable condition.

The case is under investigation by the police.
