Mohamed Mihadh, the last managing director of Island Aviation – the operator of the national airline, Maldivian – has been appointed the company’s chairman on Tuesday.
Maldivian, in a post on X announcing the appointment, congratulated Mihadh.
Prior to this, Mihadh has held senior posts in the government and state-owned companies. Till very recently, he has been serving as the managing director of Island Aviation; a post which he was appointed in January 2021.
He has also served as the managing director of Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) from 2008 to 2012.
He also held the post of Finance Ministry’s director general during former president Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom’s administration.
The present managing director of Islan Aviation is Ibrahim Iyas.
