Met Office: Calms seas despite rain

Maldives Metrological Service (Met Office) has forecasted calm seas despite rain nationwide for Wednesday.

In this regard, the office said rain is expected in northern and southern Maldivian regions while showers are expected in the central region. On average, winds of five to 15 miles per hour are expected nationwide.

Met Office forecasts good weather for the upcoming days, including the weekend.

Many are expected to travel over the next three days as schools are set to reopen for the second term on Sunday.

Maldives experienced severe weather since last week, with rough seas.

Met office has previously attributed the bad weather spell to a low-pressure area formed over the Arabian Sea.
