Aishath Jennifer has been dismissed from her position as the Deputy Managing Director of Island Aviation.

Jennifer told Sun that she received the letter of termination on Tuesday evening, and that it did not specify a reason.

She said that her dismissal was part of changes being made by the company’s board.

Jennifer, who joined Island Aviation in June 2000, was appointed as the company’s DMD on December 25, 2018.

She had served as Island Aviation’s Deputy Head from 2014 to 2016 - when she was dismissed during former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s administration. She contested her dismissal with the Employment Tribunal, which ruled in her favor and ordered her reinstatement in April 2017.

She was reinstated to Island Aviation in December 2018.
