The Parliament’s Government Oversight Committee has decided today to summon former Human Rights Minister Fathimath Dhiyana Saeed and five officials of the security forces to the committee for questioning regarding the change of former President Mohamed Nasheed’s government.
This decision was made at an ongoing emergency meeting of the committee in relation to a letter submitted by three members of MDP Parliamentary Group.
The individuals to be summoned to the committee are, in addition to Dhiyana, former Chief of Defence Force Major General Moosa Ali Jaleel, Brigadier Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, former Police Commissioner Ahmed Faseeh, Colonel Mohamed Ziyad and former Head of Police Drug Enforcement Department Mohamed Jinah.
