Two who attempted to traffic alcohol to Villingili arrested

Two people who attempted to traffic 75 bottles of alcohol to GA. Villingili has been arrested.

The arrestees have been identified as two Maldivian men; a 37-year-old and 43-year-old.

Police said they seized 75 bottles of alcohol in an operation carried out based on a trip received to police intelligence, informing of an attempt to smuggle alcohol into Villingili. The alcohol bottles were discovered in a car and speedboat linked to the two arrestees.

Both suspects have been remanded in police custody for 15 days by Villingili Magistrate Court.

The case is under investigation by Villingili Police Station.
