Zeeniya appointed as Aasandha MD; Fazul to Urbanco

Aminath Zeeniya has been appointed as the managing director of Aasandha, while Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed has been appointed as the managing director of Urbanco.

Zeeniya had previously been serving as the general manager at the state health insurance service.

In a statement announcing the appointment on Tuesday, Aasandha said Zeeniya is one of the company’s longest-serving employees. She joined the company on February 12, 2012, as a medical director.

She later served as an assistant general manager and general manager, before getting promoted to the company’s top post on Tuesday.

During her time at Aasandha, she managed multiple sections at the company, including medial department, awareness department, customer service section, public relations, and business development section.

Before joining Aasandha, Zeeniya worked as director general at the Department of Drug Prevention and Rehabilitation, prior to which she served as a nurse.

In 2008, Zeeniya received a scholarship from the World Health Organization (WHO), and attained a Masters in Mental Health Nursing from the University of Wollongong in Australia.

And in 2019, she attained a Masters of Science in Public Health from the University of the West of England.

Meanwhile, Fazul has been serving as Felidhoo MP, up until he resigned to take on the new post. He also serves as managing director of Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) during former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s administration.
