Dr. Shaheem’s first decision: Thinadhoo Islamic Centre to be transformed to IUM campus

Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, on Friday night, has announced the new administration’s decision to transport the Islamic Centre in GDh. Thinadhoo to a campus of the Islamic University of the Maldives (IUM).

The new cabinet was sworn in during a special ceremony at the President’s Office on Friday night.

Dr. Shaheem, who has also served as the Islamic Minister during former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom’s administration, was sworn in as the Islamic Minister for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration tonight.

Shaheem, in a post on Facebook after being sworn in, said the Islamic Centre established in Thinadhoo will be brought under IUM’s wing next week’s Tuesday.

Shaheem said the centre will become a hub for Islamic culture and values.

The Islamic Centre in Thinadhoo was developed during Yameen’s administration.
