Nasheed heads to Dubai for international conference

Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed has traveled to Dubai in United Arab Emirates (UAE) to speak at the 17th Global Citizenship Conference (GCC).

Set to commence on Wednesday, GCC, organized by Henley and Partners Consultancy, is a unique event that provides tools and resources to promote global citizenship as a way to work together to solve today's challenges around the world.

This year’s conference will feature high-level, interactive discussion sessions, presentations, and participative workshops featuring world leaders, senior government officials, leading academics, and investment migration experts from around the globe, offering latest insights into worldwide residence and citizenship options from the global leaders in the sector, as well as encompassing key themes including;

  • The present and future of global citizenship
  • The global economic and political landscape: where to be and where not to be in the future?
  • Wealth planning for global citizens
  • International perspectives on well-being, family life, and longevity
  • The best real estate-linked residence and citizenship options on every continent
  • Trends in due diligence and regulatory frameworks

The conference will continue till Friday.

Nasheed is a keynote speaker at the conference.

His departure to attend the conference comes at a time a no-confidence motion filed against him has been stalled at the parliament. However, Supreme Court hearings in the case filed by MDP, seeking their opinion, concluded today.

 

Nasheed will conclude his visit and return to the Maldives on November 11th
