People’s Majlis has extended invitations to international media outlets that want to cover the swearing-in ceremony of President-Elect Dr Mohamed Muizzu, today.
As per the invitation sent by the People’s Majlis, the ceremony will be held on November 17 at Republic Square.
The parliamentary office said it would provide assistance to any international media outlets that wish to come to Maldives to cover the event. They also said that they will provide visas and other permits and the necessary administrative arrangements for residence.
However, they said that travel, meals, accommodation and other expenses should be arranged by the attending media.
The Parliament said foreign media outlets wishing to cover the ceremony should notify them before the 31st of this month.
Foreign leaders will also be invited to the ceremony.
Muizzu will be the eighth president of the country.
While People’s Majlis is working on the swearing-in ceremony, Director General of Transition, Abdul Raheem Abdulla (Adhurey) and the leaders of both PPM and PNC met with the parliamentary office regarding this as well.
This meeting was held last week.
