Majlis attendance records publicized

Publicized attendance records of the People’s Majlis for the last year have shown that Zaahir Adam, MP for Gadhdhoo Constituency had the poorest record of attending the Majlis sessions.

Majlis attendance records were publicized on its official website. According to the records, 81 sessions of the Majlis were conducted last year, of which Zaahir attended only 47.

He was on “salaam” absence for 11 sessions, while he missed six sessions without declaring any reasons. He also missed 17 sessions while on leave.

After Zaahir, Mohammed Aslam, MP for Hithadhoo Uthuru Constituency, has the lowest rate of attendance. He attended only 48 sessions, and missed 24 with “salaam” leave. He also missed 9 sessions without declaring any reasons, though he did not take a leave last year.

According to the records, only five MPs, out of a total of 77, attended all the sessions of the Majlis last year. They are Mohammed Nasheed, MP for Kulhuduffushi Dhekunu Constituency, Mohamed “Kaanal” Nasheed, MP for Nolhivaram Constituency, Ahmed Amir, MP for Kudahuvadhoo Constituency, Abdul Ghafoor Moosa, MP for Kulhuduffushi Uthuru Constituency, and Abdul Azeez Jamaal Abu Bakuru, MP for Maavashu Constituency.
