Man arrested from Thilafushi with over 100 liquor bottles

The police have arrested a suspect with over 100 bottles of liquor from K. Thilafushi – an industrial island located near Male’.

Police said the arrest was made in an operation run by the Thilafushi Police on Sunday, in response to intel of the possession and sale of alcohol by migrants in the island.

The suspect was identified as a 36-year-old male migrant worker.

Following his arrest, the police searched cardboard boxes in his possession, and found three bottles of liquor, and an additional 107 500ml bottles containing alcohol.

The case is under investigation by the police.
