President of Adhaalath Party Imran Abdullah has said that given the current state of the country, it will take 80 years to revert to the present situation if Adhaalath Party is dissolved.
Imran said this last night at a rally held at Ghiyasuddin School to increase membership of Adhaalath Party.
“It would not be wrong to say that it will take 80 years to save the country and for it to revert to the present situation if Adhaalath Party is dissolved in the current political circumstances. Thus it is compulsory upon you to ensure that Adhaalath Party isn’t dissolved. It is compulsory upon all citizens,” he said.
Reflecting on the Bill on Political Parties passed by the Parliament in December, Imran said that the fact that the bill tries to limit the number of political parties in existence to two or three shows that efforts are being made to establish an autocratic regime. He said that debates will nonetheless be held at the Parliament to reduce the membership required to register a political party to 5,000.
Imran said that political parties have to be dissolved, or systems have to be established to ensure that social values are not ruined due to political differences.
“Social values have been torn apart. Conflicts, assault and arguments within parties have become commonplace. Things have gone so far that and mothers and children don’t speak to each other, and mothers ask children to leave their homes. So what I have to say is that a solution has to be sought to the problem of political parties,” he said.
Imran urged educated people all over the country to join the party, and assured that the party will not be dissolved.
He said that he would lead the campaign to dissolve political parties if people fail to establish a system by which they can coexist and “eat around the same table” due to political differences.
Everyone who spoke at last night’s rally said that Adhaalath Party will not be dissolved, and several new members joined the party as well.
