Fire breaks out in Hulhumale’ home

Fire breaks out on the terrace of a home in Hulhumale' Phase I.

A fire broke out at a home in Hulhumale’ on Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out on the terrace of a home near Amin Avenue in Hulhumale’ Phase I.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the fire was reported to the authority at approximately 8:39am this morning, and was brought under control at approximately 9:00am.

They detailed that the fire had broken out inside a make-shift godown made at the terrace to store home construction materials. 

The fire, as per MNDF, had only caused damage to the makeshift godown. 

MNDF, citing the cause of the fire remains unclear at the moment, said a detailed investigation was necessary to identify the cause. 

No one was injured in the fire. 

Wednesday’s incident comes after the two fires from Male’ City just a week earlier, which saw one of the oldest shopping outlets in the city, Vega Point, burn down completely.
