Bank of Maldives (BML), on Wednesday, held an event to celebrate the achievements of the bank’s sports scholarship recipients who represented Maldives at the IOIG 2023.
The event was held at Lotus Goalhi, near the bank’s headquarters, where scores of the bank’s staff welcomed and cheered the athletes.
Six recipients of BML’s sports scholarship were part of the Maldives contingent at the IOIG, while the following four athletes achieved medals:
Speaking at the event, BML’s CEO and Managing Director Karl Stumke said the bank was proud to have been able to support the athletes through their scholarship.
“Congratulations to each of you on your remarkable achievement. This is a big win for you and the Maldives; and we are proud to have been able to support you through our sports scholarship,” he had said.
BML Sports Scholarship was announced in partnership with Maldives Olympics Committee to provide fully funded scholarships for top national athletes to train and develop at recognized high-performance training centers worldwide.
