Customs seizes MVR 2M in heroin smuggled via courier

Maldives Customs Service has seized a shipment of drugs worth over MVR 2 million smuggled into Maldives through a courier service.

Maldives Customs Service said that the parcel which contained the drugs was inspected on Monday.

The drugs weighed 1,628 grams, and tested positive for heroin.

The street value of the drugs is estimated to be MVR 2 million.

The case is under investigation by the police.
