State broadcaster, Public Service Media (PSM) has announced their decision to hold the debate of presidential candidates contesting in the election slated for September 9th on September 1st.
The presidential debate, as per PSM, will be held at 9:00pm on Friday, September 1st. Candidates will share their visions, policies and hopes for the next five-year term during the debate.
PSM states opportunity is there for other media outlets to broadcast the presidential debate in collaboration with them.
Eight candidates will face off elections;
1 – Former Home Minister Umar Naseer (Independent Candidate)
2 – Former Deputy Defense Minister Hassan Zameel (Independent Candidate)
3 – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (Maldivian Democratic Party)
4 – Male' City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu (People’s National Congress)
5 – Qasim Ibrahim (Jumhoory Party)
6 – Ahmed Faris Maumoon (Independent Candidate)
7 – Hulhudhoo MP Ilyas Labeeb (The Democrats)
8 – Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim (Maldives National Party)
All eight of them have been campaigning across the nation, revealing their manifestos and pledges.
