Illness forces Pres Solih to cut short AA. Atoll tour

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih decided to cut short his current campaign tour of AA. Atoll and ADh. Atoll on Thursday, after falling ill.

President Solih had been already ill with a cold when he began his tour of the region on Wednesday. He was seen often struggling to make speeches at rallies.

Sun has been informed that the president decided to cut short the tour in order to rest and recover from the illness.

The president visited seven islands in AA. Atoll on Wednesday; Thoddoo, Rasdhoo, Bodufulhadhoo, Mathiveri, Maalhos, Feridhoo, and Ukulhas.

He had been scheduled to travel to eight more islands on Thursday; AA. Himendhoo, and seven islands in HDh. Atoll; Hangnaameedhoo, Dhidhdhoo, Dhangethi, Dhigurah, Kunburudhoo, Omadhoo, and Mahibadhoo.

He had been originally scheduled to return to Male’ after a campaign rally in Mahibadhoo on Thursday night.

The president has visited 89 islands in his campaign to get re-elected for a second term.
