Pres Solih says Siyam will play key role in ‘big change’ to tourism

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih says that Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, the leader of his coalition partner Maldives Development Alliance (MDA), will play a key role in formulating economic policies in his next term, describing the Meedhoo MP as a “visionary.”

In a campaign rally in Noonu Maalhendhoo on Saturday, President Solih called Siyam one of the key pioneers of the Maldivian tourism industry.

He said the revolutionary changes Siyam has been bringing to the Maldivian tourism industry is also visible from the Noonu Atoll.

The president said Siyam will play a key role in formulating his economic plan in his next term.

He promised “bigger than expected” changes to the economy, especially to the country’s tourism industry.

President Solih said he faces his tour of Noonu Atoll with renewed hope, as he is accompanied by Siyam, who was born in the atoll.

He described Siyam as hardworking and wise.
